POTTER, Julie - age 56, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Flint, MI, and residing in Linden, Julie dedicated her life to her family, who were always her greatest joy and priority.
Julie was married to her high school sweetheart, Rodney Potter, with whom she shared a beautiful life with. Together, they raised three daughters: Ashley, Arieanna, and Alexis. Julie's nurturing spirit and boundless love extended to her six cherished grandchildren: Trysten, Rylin, Reese, Remy, Ridge, and the newest addition, Julieanna, who was named in her honor. She also deeply loved her three sons-in-law, Josh, Gannon, and James, treating them as her own.
Julie also dedicated over 35 years of her life (beginning at 16) as a Dental Assistant, working with Dr. Boike, Dr. Ebrahim, and Dr. Vitols. Her commitment to her profession was evident in the care and compassion she showed to her patients, always ensuring they felt comfortable and well-cared for. Julie's warm presence and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with and treated.
Julie was the heart and soul of her family, always present and supportive, embodying the essence of unconditional love. She was known for her tireless dedication and hard work, ensuring her family was cared for and loved. Julie's greatest happiness came from being there for her loved ones, celebrating their successes, and providing comfort during challenging times.
Her bravery and resilience during her battle with cancer were a testament to her strength and determination. She faced each day with grace and fortitude, inspiring all who knew her.
Surviving are: her husband of 35 years, Rodney; three daughters, Ashley (Josh) Snavely, Arieanna (Gannon) O'Reilly, Alexis (James) Savage; six grandchildren, Rylin, Reese, Trysten, Remy, Ridge, Julieanna; five siblings, Lori Bourne, Tommy Shedd, Mike Shedd, Scott Shedd; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Judith Shedd, mother and father-in-law Judy and Gerald Potter, and grandmother, Yola Hodson.
Her legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Julie's memory will be forever cherished by her husband Rodney, her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, and all who had the privilege of being part of her life.
To honor Julie’s vibrant spirit, she requested that everyone wear bright colors to her visitation and funeral, with her favorite color being fuchsia.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adoring Nana, and a beacon of love and dedication. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
