It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julia Freda Sutfin, age 86, of Swartz Creek, who left this world peacefully on October 1, 2024, holding the hand of her beloved husband, Earnest. Born on January 24, 1938, in Brighton, Michigan, Julia was the cherished daughter of Carl John and Christina Freda (Kasper) Pierce. A proud graduate of Brighton High School, she embarked on a beautiful journey with Earnest Leroy Sutfin, marrying him on June 17, 1955, in Fowlerville, MI. Together, they celebrated an enduring love that spanned nearly 70 years. Julia’s dedication extended beyond her family; she devoted many years to serving her community as a pharmacy technician, first at Fowlerville Pharmacy and later at a pharmacy in Lewiston. Her warm smile and compassionate nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. An avid reader and a talented knitter, Julia poured her heart into creating Christmas stockings for her family and friends, making each holiday season a little more special. Her passion for cats shone brightly through her life, as she often surrounded herself with adorable feline-themed items that brought her immense joy. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love through her three daughters: Sherry Missinne of Howell, Cindy Larkin (with her significant other, John Reid) of Swartz Creek, and Dawn Hubbard (and her husband, Kevin) of Lewiston. Julia was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren-Kelly, Nicole, Jeremy, Steven, Zachary, and Alyssa-along with several step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and a great-great-grandson. She also shared a special bond with her brother, Douglas Pierce. Julia is reunited in peace with her parents, Carl and Christina; her brother, David; and her sister, Katherine Arnot. Private family services will be held to honor her remarkable life. In these moments of loss, we celebrate Julia's memory and the love she gave so freely, drawing comfort from the countless lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County (https://geneseehumane.org/). Arrangements are entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. In our hearts, Julia will remain forever dear, a true testament to a life lived with love and purpose.
