Julie was born on October 19, 1951, in Caro, Michigan to the late Charles & Ethel Goodman. Julie married the love of her life, David (Dave) Howko on July 6, 1968.
Julie was a woman of many talents; but perhaps the greatest of her gifts was making a house a home, where people felt comfortable to gather. Her children remember when they were young, they would leave for school only to return with the house repainted and completely redecorated. She loved to garden and kept beautiful flowers, herbs and vegetables beds. She loved sitting on her porch, watching her flowers in bloom soaking up the sun. She was exceptionally talented, and enjoyed painting, scrapbooking, needlework and sewing. Dave and Julie loved to camp throughout Michigan, but especially West Branch and Grand Haven. What brought Julie the greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her husband, Dave Howko; her three children, Lisa Alvarado, Tammy Browning and Dan (Lynn) Howko; granddaughters, Jeremy Ellen Howko, Jordan Ann Alvarado and Alyssa Marie Howko; grandson, Joaquin Antonio Alvarado; great-granddaughter, Julianne Jade Marie Brookshire; brothers, Chuck Goodman and Randy (Mary) Goodman. She is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, and family members too numerous to list but never forgotten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rod (Nann) Willson and sister-in-law, Becky Goodman.
The family would like to give special thanks to Faye Krapohl not just a longtime neighbor but always considered family. Pastor Dean and Robin Gardner for their counsel and fellowship. Nurses Sarah and Caryn from McLaren Hospice for providing exceptional care and comfort. The nurses and doctors at Karmanos Cancer Institute.
