Julia Helms

Helms, Julia Virginia - Age 92, of Clio, died August 26, 2018. Services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, September 29 at the New Life Wesleyan Church, 5116 Linden Rd., Swartz Creek, Rev. Frank Beck officiating. Interment will be 1:30 PM Thursday, September 13 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta MI. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Julia was born January 23, 1926 in Flint the daughter of James B. and Nellie M. (Lamb) Chapman. She was a 1944 graduate of Kearsley High School. She married Marion C. Helms on February 2, 1946 in Flint; he preceded her in death February 22, 2000. She retired from A.C. Spark Plug in 1975 with 31 years of service. She had lived in Flint all of her life, wintering in Arizona and Texas after retirement. Julia enjoyed travel, bingo, and casinos, but most importantly her children and grandchildren. Surviving are: three children, Charles Marion Helms of Burton, Patricia May and husband John Musselwhite of Clio, Judy Diane Skinner of Flint; nine grandchildren Tammy and husband Rob Bennett; Timothy Helms, Daniel and wife Crystal Helms, Robin and husband Mike McDougall, Andrew Helms, Heather and husband Bob Bausick, Kurt and wife Tasha Musselwhite, Lance Skinner and girlfriend Katee, Stacy Skinner; 15 great-grandchildren.
