Judy was born October 2, 1964 in Flint, the daughter of H. Richard "Dick" and Patricia J. (McDaniel) Hansel. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint and received her Master's from Oakland University. Judy taught for 24 years at Carman-Ainsworth H.S., where she taught many Language Arts classes, notably A.P. English, and prepared all her students for their next stage in life. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Judy loved and rescued many animals. Judy filled her life with family events and vacations, live music, theater, movies, and reading. Surviving are: her beloved husband, John; children, Rachel and John; and their cat, Mia; siblings, Jean-Ann (Drew) Webster, Richard Hansel, Michael Hansel, and Mark Hansel; dear in laws, John and Michele Hillis; sisters in law, Kelly (Bill) Norton, Sarah (Tim) Davies; brother in law, Paul (Steffany) Hillis; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
