COWAN, Judith Charlene - Age 76, of Hartland, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Heritage Hills Church, 5530 Runyan Lake Road, Fenton. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon provided at the church. Pastor Tony Chick officiating. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM, where a time of sharing memories of Judy will be held at 7:00 PM. There will also be visitation at the church Thursday from 10:00 AM Until the time of the service. Judith was born June 1, 1940 in Saginaw, the daughter of George Theodore and Marcella (Kersten) Clark. She was a 1958 graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. She married Jerry V. Cowan April 20, 1963 in Saginaw. She had been employed by Hartland Schools as a paraprofessional in the high school. She then was employed by Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency as a social worker, where she eventually retired after 20 plus years of service. She was a member of Heritage Hills Church, Hartland Lions Club and the Hartland Optimist Club. She also volunteered for various other organizations. She was honored by being selected as a Grand Marshall of the Hartland Area Memorial Day Parade for her numerous contributions to the community. Surviving are: her husband of 54 years, Jerry; daughter, Dawn (John) Schiller; son, Todd Cowan of Hartland; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Cassie Schiller of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kara Schiller of Kalamazoo, Luke, Brooke, and Levi Cowan all of Hartland; great grandson, David Christian Wilson; sister-in-law, Chris Clark of Rogers City; and nieces and nephews.
