Joyce (Joy) Ann Thompson

THOMPSON, Joyce (Joy) Ann - Age 94, of Linden, passed away Monday March 6, 2023.  Services will be held 1 PM Monday, March 13 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton.  Pastor Robbie Carnes officiating.  Visitation will be 11 AM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.

Joy was born November 9, 1928 in Livingston County, the daughter of Fred and Anna Durand.  She was a 1947 graduate of Fenton High School.  Joy married James Corwin Thompson on May 24, 1952 in Angola, IN.  She was a Telephone Operator, a Homemaker, and also worked as a Medical Office Clerk.  Joy enjoyed reading, movies, card games, trips to Florida, beach time, and cruises. She loved cats. Most of all she loved family gatherings.

Surviving are: her 3 children, Marc Thompson of Linden, Jennifer (Scott) Johnson of Grayling, Julia Frasier of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Trevor (Elizabeth) Thompson, Kristen (Christopher) Romps, Angela Johnson, Marlena Frasier;  7 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Corwin, Gisella, and Xavier Thompson, Malcolm and Wesley Romps, and Everett Wolfe.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Fred and Anna Durand; husband, James Corwin Thompson; sister, Thelma; and brother Gerald.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
