Joyce Wilson

WILSON, Joyce Marie - Age 88, of Linden, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Funeral services were held on August 22, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes in Linden. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army or Carriage Town Ministries, two of Joyce's most valued causes. Joyce was born on June 24, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of Joseph E. and Anna M. (Soule) Walker. She married Robert Allen Wilson May 6, 1949 in Flint and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2018. Joyce was a 1948 graduate of Flint Northern High School and then a star employee in the teletype department at Buick before becoming a full-time homemaker in the early 1950s. She lived in Linden since 1972, coming from Flint Township. After her husband Bob retired, the two of them spent several years traveling to beautiful places in the U.S. and Canada with their corgi, Cubby. Joyce was adored by her family, who were the heart of her life. With her beloved husband Bob, Joyce spent many years going "Up North" in the summer months to enjoy boating, skiing, fishing, and family time with their children, and later their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was also a frequent spectator at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, musicals and recitals. She loved children and animals and believed strongly in family traditions - many of which she created with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everyone who met Joyce came away with an impression of her spunk, kindness, and gratitude to others. Surviving are Joyce's children, Timothy (Janice) Wilson of Tecumseh, Stephen (Patti Bernard) Wilson of Swartz Creek, and Anne (Tony) Magalski of Linden; seven grandchildren, Erin (Josh) Faley, Troy (Carrie Fritsch) Wilson, Meg (Chris) Wyzlic, John Allen (Carol Matthews) Wilson, Mallory (Evan) Duey, John Robert (Shelby Masen) Magalski, Jessie (Mitch Juhl) Magalski; five great grandchildren, Samuel, Kaelyn, Easton, Harper, and Quinn; and nieces and nephews. Joyce's devoted and loving husband, Bob, preceded her in death on August 17, 2018. She was also preceded by her parents and brother, Ralph Walker.
