Joyce Elaine Tibbitts

TIBBITTS, Joyce Elaine (Hagen) - Age 96, of Fenton, passed away, Sunday, November 17, 2024. Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed below her obituary here on this page). Chaplain Tom Tengler officiating. Visitation will be 12 PM until the time of service on Sunday.  Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date. Joyce was born January 20, 1928 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of John and Lydia (Heininger) Hagen. She was a 1946 graduate of Ypsilanti High School, where she was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. She married Robert Nelson Tibbitts October 10, 1948 in Ypsilanti and he preceded her in death December 29, 2002. She had resided in Fenton since 1965 coming from Ypsilanti. Joyce retired in 2002 from Lake Fenton Community Schools as a secretary after 35 years of service. She had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti where she was a member of the choir. She also was a member of the Forget Me Nots at The State Bank. She was an avid fisherman, enjoyed fishing Lake Fenton and in Canada. 

Surviving are: her son, Mark and wife Terry Tibbitts of Fenton; grandson, Jeremy Tibbitts of Fenton; great grandson, Nicholas Tibbitts of Fenton; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Tibbitts; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Katherine), John (Marion) and Derwood (Janice) Hagen.
