SIMMONS, Joyce Elaine - Age 90, of Fenton, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. She was endearingly known to all those who loved her as "Buddah". Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, May 28 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Donald Milton officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Pioneer Memorial Association, 2436 N. Long Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430. Joyce was born September 10, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the daughter of John Clint and Wilma Florene Drake. She married William Cyron Simmons on January 6, 1946. Joyce was devoted to her two daughters, Wilma and Debbie. She served for many years as a homeroom mother in their classrooms, as their Girl Scout leader and as an involved member of the Lake Fenton Band Boosters. She was also an active member of the Pioneer Association, serving as its President for many years. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Wilma (Terry) Betts and Debbie (Gerry) Jones all of Fenton; her grandchildren, Shannon (Tim) Culver, John (Allison) Betts, David (Magen) Betts, Kristine (Luke) Dye, Karrie (Joel) Nevadomski, and Mike Jones (Tabithia Huntley), and her great-grandchildren, Jessica, Justin and Jenna Culver, Emily, Nick, and David Wesley Betts, Logan and Makenna Dreyer, and Ella and Blake Dye. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Cyron; and her precious baby grandson, Jason Eugene Jones.
