ROCKWELL, Joyce E. -- Age 92, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, May 15 at Bristol United Methodist Church, G5285 Van Slyke, Flint. Pastor Marvin Herman officiating. Entombment at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Saturday, and 3-7 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Joyce was born October 1, 1924 in Swartz Creek the daughter of Howard and Gladys (Jennings) Bentley. She was a graduate of Swartz Creek High School, the American Institute of Banking and Holstead School of Music and Dramatic Arts. She married Kenneth E. Rockwell on September 21, 1946 in Flint; he preceded her in death December 17 , 2006. She taught Piano in her early years. She was employed at Genesee Merchant Bank as a Teller until 1960, and then Chevrolet Truck Assembly working in Accounts Payable with 20 years of service retiring in 1980. She was member of Bristol United Methodist Church where she was the church organist for nearly 70 years. She was a member of the Industrial Business Girls, Retirees Club, American Business Women's Association, United Methodist Women, Flint Bishop Sewing Council, and Red Hat Society. She had volunteered her time for McLaren Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are: daughter Reushan K. (Charles) Russian of Sanford Lake; grandchildren, Dacia (Joseph) Albaugh of Grand Haven, C. Donovan (Tanya) Russian of Grand Blanc; five great-grandchildren, C. Brendon Russian, Brett Russian, Kennan Albaugh, Darren Albaugh, Layla Jane Albaugh; several nieces and nephews, and her cat, Tiger. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother James Bentley; husband Kenneth Rockwell; and special friend Charles St. Charles. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
