Joyce Merrell RAINEY

RAINEY, Joyce Merrell -- of Flint, died December 15, 2010 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday, December 17 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association. Joyce was born in Bernie, MO, the daughter of Edgar Merrell and Bertha (Griffith) Taylor. She married George Rainey in 1981. She retired in 1992 from the U.S. Post Office, she worked at the Main Branch in Flint. She was a garage sale fanatic, loved animals, flowers, and her grandchildren. Joyce had traveled all over the world. Surviving are: husband George; three children, Dennis and wife Theresa Adams, Gary and wife Shirley Adams, Kim and husband Tim Williams all of Flint; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchild; brother, Bill Taylor; sister Janice and husband Bill Lawrence; step-son, Steven and wife Paula Rainey; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
