Joyce Elaine (Carll) Magrys

MAGRYS, Joyce Elaine (Carll) was surrounded by the love of her family when our Heavenly Father called her home January 11, 2025. Joyce had unwavering love for her husband and children. She was a beacon of kindness and compassion, and her willingness to put the needs of others before her own will always be remembered. Her spirit lives on, in the hearts of those that knew her best.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via Joyce’s obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com), Pastor Frank Yount officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest in Montrose Township Cemetery, Montrose. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to are encouraged to make contributions to Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal, 1497 Pine St. Clio, Michigan 48420.

Daughter of Autta and Sylvia (Wellman) Carll, Joyce was born March 2, 1942, in Richland Township, Michigan. She married Edward Charles Magrys on April 25, 1963, and the two lived in Montrose for nearly 60 years. Joyce was a nurses assistant for many years, but her true love was taking care of her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are: her husband of 61 years, Edward; children, Amanda (Jeff) Raleigh of Pennsylvania, Unice (Brad Ross) Parkinson of Swartz Creek, Javada Grundy of Linden, and Eddie (Casey) Magrys of Maryland; grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Raleigh, Sara (Jason) Fornwald, Kevin, Michael, and Kyle Parkinson, Jase, Justin, and Joey Grundy, Otto, and Charlie Magrys; great grandchildren, Kaia and Myles Fornwald.
