Joyce Marilyn Conner

CONNER, Joyce Marilyn  Age 67, of Swartz Creek, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. J.D. Landis officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society, 3325 S. Dort Hwy, Flint, MI 48507. Mrs. Conner was born November 8, 1937 in Defiance, OH, the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Plassman) Brandt. She was a 1955 graduate of Jewell High School and a 1958 graduate of Riverside School of Nursing. Joyce married Carl Conner in November of 1959. She was a registered nurse for 25 years and then owned and operated Creations by JC floral design in Swartz Creek. Joyce volunteered for Avalon Hospice for five years where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year Award by the Michigan Hospice Association. She also received the Paul Harris Fellow awarded by The Rotary Club of Flint. Joyce had a great love for animals. Surviving are: husband, Carl of Swartz Creek; three children, Jeffery Conner of Swartz Creek, Julie and husband, Joe Wojciechowski of Ortonville, David Conner and wife, Lisa of Linden; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Joel, Jessica, Emily, Beth, Kelsey, Matthew and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Liberty and Brennen.
