Joyce Ballentine

BALLENTINE, Joyce Paula - Age 76, of Davison, died Friday, June 25, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 5, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 9:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Family Promise c/o Davison United Methodist Church or the Children's Miracle Network c/o Hurley Medical Center.

Joyce was born September 2, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Slivon. She was a 1962 graduate of Carl Sandburg High School in Illinois; She received a Bachelor's Degree from University of Michigan Flint and her Master Degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University. She married David Charles Ballentine November 27, 1965 in Palos Park, IL. She had resided in Davison since 1993 coming from Flint and had wintered in Palmetto, FL. Joyce retired as a teacher from the Flint Community School System after 23 years of service. She was a member of Davison United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. She loved to travel and enjoyed making jewelry.

Surviving are: her husband of 55 years, David; daughter, Vicki Hyatt of Baltimore, MD; son, Scott D. Ballentine and wife Susan of Carrollton, GA; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
