KERNER, Joshua David age 39 of Scottsdale, AZ formerly of Linden, died Sunday, July 7, 2013. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 18 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide Street, Fenton. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to an educational fund being established for Ryker & Kash Kerner. Contributions made to Ryker OR Kash Kerner (c/o Ann Kerner); PO Box 2533, Carefree, AZ 85377-2533. Mr. Kerner was born September 29, 1973 in Flint, the son of Michael and Joan Kerner. He was a graduate of Linden High School and attended Great Lakes Community College and Ferdonia College (SUNY). Joshua is married to Ann Phillips of Scottsdale, AZ. He played Minor League Hockey for 9 years (squirts midgets); 2 years in Canadian Jr. B; 3 years in Tier2 Junior A, where they won a National Championship; and 1 year in D3 college. Joshua went on to coach for Compuware Hockey; peewee minor; midget major; Tier2 Junior A, where they won a NAJH National Championship; and the Ontario Hockey League. For the past 13 years Joshua worked on the corporate side of Compuware as a very successful Executive Account Sales Manager. Mr. Kerner is survived by his wife, Ann Phillips Kerner of Scottsdale, AZ; children, Ryker Lane Kerner age 4, and Kash Michael Kerner age 1; nephew, Aidan Kerner Arnesen; parents, Michael and Joan Kerner of Linden.
