Josephine Hope

HOPE, Josephine - Age 92, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Butch Martin officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Josephine was born August 26, 1923 in Camp Creek, WV, the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Martin) Ellison. She married Virgil H. Hope February 1, 1941 in Mountain City, TN and he preceded her in death March 6, 1999. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1978 coming from Flint. Josephine retired in 1972 from Westside Fruit Market as a cashier. Surviving are: her sons, Frank Hope of Franklin, TN and Henry and wife Aline Hope of Flushing; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Charette; great granddaughter, Katie Paul; 5 sisters; and 1 brother.
