DENNY-WALSH, Josephine Dorothy -- Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Flint. Interment in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Â Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM, and Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Association, or a fund within the Holy Redeemer Community. Josephine was born April 1, 1916 in Auburn, Michigan, the daughter of Alex and Ruby (Western) Abeare. She was married to Minor Denny and he preceded her in death, she was then married to Thomas Walsh and he preceded her in death. She was a charter member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, member of the Legion of Mary, Altar Society, and the Dye Road Card Club for many years. Â She was a seamstress, and director for the Drapery Room at Smith Bridgman's for many years. She was an exemplary role model to all who knew her. Mom was a kind, loving, and compassionate, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Surviving are: five children, Gloria and husband Edward Letavis of Durand, Joann and husband Richard Sarber of Interlochen, Loraine and husband Edward Witucki of Swartz Creek, Fred Denny of Fenton, Ruby and husband Robert Martin of Byron; seventeen grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ada and husband Atlee Hobson of Flushing; brother, Kenneth and wife Emma Abeare of Goodrich; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; Â three brothers, Earl, Alex and Vernon Abeare; two sisters, Iva Garlinghouse and Helen Galerneau.
