Joseph 'Bill' W. Vickrey

VICKREY, Joseph W. Bill  Age 67, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, August 29, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Evangelists Paul and Carol Ross officiating. Visitation will be held 2-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice. Mr. Vickrey was born August 29, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Ralph and Josephine (Faulk) Vickrey. He married Rebecca Elaine Risler August 23, 1958 in London, Ontario, Canada. He has resided in Swartz Creek for 33 years. Mr. Vickrey received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa and a Master Degree in Library Science from University of Denver. He retired from the Flint Public Library as a Librarian in 1990 after 36 years of service. Mr. Vickrey was very active in the Swartz Creek Kiwanis Club for many years and was a member and Elder at the Community of Christ Church. Surviving are: wife, Elaine Vickrey; son, Rick and wife, Kathy Vickrey of Swartz Creek; daughter, Mary and husband, Ken Losee of Davison; five grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Vickrey, Richard and Nicholas Girod, Ken Losee, Jr.; cousins and nephews.
