VAVRO, Joseph J. "Jerry" -- Age 69, of Lennon, died November 6, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday November 10 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek , Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 2-9 PM Wednesday. An F.O.E. service will be 7 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to American Diabetes Association. Mr. Vavro was born July 13, 1942 in Flint the son of Joseph and Katherine "Olga" (Tekiele) Vavro. He retired from GM V-8 Engine Plant. He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie 3851 of Durand, Buicktown Chapter of BCA, and Buick Driving Enthusiasts. Surviving are: three daughters, Ruth, Jean (Rich) Young of Clio, Joan (Tim) Salley of Ohio; five grandchildren, Michael (Mindy) Young, Kevin Young, Derek Young, Jared Salley, Eric Salley; three great-grandchildren, Dakoda and Kayla Young, Myah Salley; siblings, Bernice (Joseph) Taubitz, Richard (Joyce) Vavro; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son John; and brother Ronald. The family extends a special thanks to Genesys ICU, Dr. Ramachandran, and Dr. Kage.
