TRUBIRO, Joseph I. - Age 93, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, January 27, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Steve Mattson celebrant. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Sunday from 2-8 PM and Monday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7:00 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries or Genesee County Humane Society. Mr. Trubiro was born September 25, 1918 in Swartz Creek, the son of Frank and Anna (Pafka) Trubiro. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He married Irene Gaspar May 18, 1957 in Flint. Mr. Trubiro retired in 1983 from Fisher Body I after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, U.A.W. Local 581 and the Swartz Creek Friendship Club. He loved gardening, bowling, gambling, listening to the Sunday Polkas and playing the accordion and harmonica. He also was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. Mr. Trubiro had resided in Swartz Creek his entire life. Surviving are: his wife, Irene; 3 children, Frank and wife Dorothy Trubiro of Davison, Joseph and wife Gina Trubiro of Rockford and Cathy and husband James Lucas of Grand Blanc; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Trubiro, Kristen Trubiro, Ashley (Josh) Munniksma and Lauren Trubiro; great granddaughter, Reese Munniksma; sister, Mildred Okenka of Lennon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, Ann Skrceny, Henrietta Horvath, Marion Kovarcik, Irene Ocenasek and Rosie Okenka and brother, Edward Trubiro.
