Joseph Shegitz

SHEGITZ, Joseph Louis - Age 80, of Swartz Creek died Monday October 19, 2020. Visitation will be held 12PM- 4PM Sunday October 25, with Military Honors being rendered at 2PM, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek. Joseph was born August 30, 1940 in Detroit, the son of Joseph Louis and Nora (Zeremsky) Shegitz. He married Beatrice Norma Schnell in Flint on June 12, 1965. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Joseph retired from general Motors with 25 years of service. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed traveling and was always busy working on odd jobs around the house. Joseph enjoyed working on cars and was truely a jack of all trades. Surviving are: Beatrice Shegitz of Swartz Creek; sons, Jerry (Shelly) Shegitz of Flint, Samuel (Rosilee) Shegitz of Brownstown, MI; grandchildren, Daniel, Brandon, Selina, Nicholas and Nina Shegitz. He is also survived by his brother, Norman (Barb) Shegitz of TX; sister, Barbara (Robert) Higuera of CO and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, David Wayne Shegitz in 1973; brothers, Ron Shegitz, Steven Shegitz; sister, Pamela Brown and infant sister Yvonne Shegitz.
