SERICH, Joseph Edward  Age 78, of Lennon, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, May 21, 2004 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Entombment will be held at the mausoleum of New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A scripture service will be held 7 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Mr. Serich was born April 4, 1926 in East Brady, PA, the son of Mirko and Mary Barbara (Bompage) Serich. He married Bertha Head on January 2, 1960 in Owensboro, KY. They have resided in Lennon since 1967. Mr. Serich retired from GM Service Parts Operations in 1991 after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Serich was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church where he served as a long-time usher. He always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the simple things of life, especially gardening. Surviving are: wife, Bertha; three sons, Joseph Serich, Jr. and fiancâ?se, Connie Billow of Grand Blanc, Michael Serich and wife, Cris of Saline, Charles Serich and wife, Liz of Westland; two grandchildren, Travis and Aimee Serich of Westland; eight siblings, Josephine Kubic of Youngstown, OH, Mary and husband, John Furka of PA, Barbara Serich of CA, Gregory Serich and wife, Pat of Harrison, Bill Serich, Bob Serich, Steven Serich and wife, Lois, all of PA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, George; two sisters, Bertha and Kathy. Friends may share their online condolence or post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
