Joseph Pepin

PEPIN, Joseph John -- Age 86, of Lennon, died September 29, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, October 2 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Sunday with a 7 PM Rosary at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation also 10-11 AM Monday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to a veterans organization of choice. John was born December 20, 1930 in Flint the son of Joseph L. and Stella O. (Kominek) Pepin. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Matthew. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. John married Helen M. Mahoney on October 17, 1953 in Flint; she preceded him in death January 22, 2006. He retired from Buick City with 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, the Friendship Club, the Swartz Creek American Legion, the Flushing VFW, and the Owosso DAV. John was an avid hunter and fisherman for over 50 years. Surviving are: four children, John (Cindy) Pepin of Burton, Kathleen Riker of Swartz Creek, Carol (John) Tracey of Northville, Robert (Traci) Pepin of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Neva Jerome of Arizona.
