Joseph Mihailoff

Mihailoff, Joseph George   - Age 96, of Swartz Creek,  died January 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday January 31 at Sharp Funeral Homes. Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. (A live stream of the service will be available on Joseph's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Private interment later at the Assyrian Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer 's Association, a veterans organization, or the charity of one's choice.

Joseph  was born June 21, 1925 in Chicago, IL, the son of Michael and Mary (Iktiari) Mihailoff. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army, 34th Division, 135th Infantry and was stationed in Anzio. He worked for Buick as a Millwright  and retired in January of 1987. He was a member of the VFW 3720, and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are: his wife of 39 years Donna (Ritzert) Mihailoff; children, Michael (Meredith) Mihailoff, Elizabeth Mihailoff, Lee Ann Ritzert, Michael (Cheryl) Ritzert; grandsons, Kevin Mihailoff (Chief of Police City of Mt. Morris), Ethan Mihailoff, Michael John Ritzert Jr., Paul Ritzert II; granddaughters, Stacey Mihailoff, Michele Ritzert, Melissa Ritzert, Trecha (James) McWilliams, Emma Ritzert; many great-grandchildren. Nephew, Neal (Marguerite) Wyrda; Niece, Denise (Phil) Wyrda; Nieces, Mary Turner, Kimmy (Goody) Turner-Cox and Lori Turner; Sister in law, Margaret Schotts.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary (Isaac) Mihailoff; mother and father, Michael and Mary Mihailoff; mother and father in law,  John and Beatrice Wilder;  sister Josephine (Edward) Wydra, all of Chicago, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam (Surma) Isaac, Sol Isaac, Norman Isaac, Alice George, Anna (Joseph) Warda, Helen (Carley) Cox and Marvin Shotts; sons, Paul Ritzert and Stephen Ritzert; and grandson, Nicholas and Amber Slack.
