JACKSON, Joseph L. - Age 100, of Swartz Creek, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Compassus Hospice, 5445 Ali Dr., Grand Blanc, MI 48439.
Joseph was born August 1, 1923, in Flint, the son of George W. and Orean (Robbins) Jackson. He was a 1942 graduate of Flint Northern High School. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 24 years coming from Flint. Joseph married Phyllis Ann Riley in 1942 in Flint and she preceded him in death in 1996; he then married Lonnie "Mickie" Turcsak. He retired from AC Spark Plug. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Surviving are: his wife, Lonnie "Mickie"; daughter, Jo Ann Eashoo of Harrisville; son, Joseph Charles (Catherine) Jackson of Birmingham; grandchildren, Matthew Derr of Alpena, Joseph William (Alex) Jackson of Clarkston and Jenna Rose (Sudhish Subhash) Jackson of Clarkston; great grandchildren, Xander and Harper Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. Extended family, Chet (Judy) Beckley, Dennis (Sarah) Beckley, Tiffany (Pete) Daniels, Debbie (Bernie Holmes) Pickelman, Stefanie (Matt Calhoun), Beckley, Logan Parks, Kaiden Parks, and Makayla Parks.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eugenia, Bertha; and brother, Charles Roy Jackson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfunerlhomes.com.
