Hill Memorial Fund. Joseph Calvin Hill was born on May 11, 1975 in Flint, Michigan. His parents were Ricky Albert, Sr. and Rebecca Jean Hill. He was son number two with two more to come. Joe graduated from Carman-Ainsworth High School and excelled in drafting and art. His one great intro into the public eye was graffiti on the outside walls of Carman-Ainsworth High School. Of course his dad was called on to help. His job was to pay for the sand blasting to remove the beautiful works of Joe and Shem. Joe was a Christian boy and attended Mt. Zion General Baptist Church where his grandfather, Rev. Albert S. Hill was the pastor. Joe started his working career learning the trade of piercing and tattoos at a shop called, "The Electric Chair". His love for the trade was passed down by a couple of best friends, Joe Harris and Shane Cole. One of his first tattoos was to place a couple of horseshoes on his father's backside where they couldn't be seen. Some of his friends moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina for work and later Joe moved there also. He went to work at a shop called, "Bill Claydon's Tattoo World". There he perfected the trade and he became well known as an excellent artist. Joe's heart of gold was shown by his caring for his nieces, nephews, family members, friends and his sincere brotherly love. Joe leaves behind his father, Ricky Albert Hill, Sr. brothers, Ricky Jr., Jeremy and Joshua. Nephews, Justin, Ethan and Joshua Jr., Nieces, Jean and Kailey. Grandmother, June A. Hill and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe was predeceased by his mother, Rebecca Jean Hill, his grandparents Calvin and Patsy Phillips and most recently his grandfather, Rev. Albert S. Hill.
