EHLEN, Joseph Francis - Age 97, of Rochester Hills formerly of Fenton/Royal Oak, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 4-8 PM where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Joseph was born October 9, 1919 in Detroit, the son of Anthony and Cecelia (Zimmerman) Ehlen. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He married Sally Sheehan June 24, 1950 in Detroit and she preceded him in death January 14, 2003. Joseph owned and operated Jaloy Manufacturing in Warren, MI for 27 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Fenton Knight of Columbus Council #7418. He also was a member and treasurer of Nomad's Travel Club. Surviving are: 9 children, Tim Ehlen of Virginia, Chris (Mary) Ehlen of Royal Oak, Mary Haight of Auburn Hills, Bridget Therasse of Royal Oak, Eileen (Frank) Hathaway of Lansing, Joe Ehlen of Texas, Judy (Bob) Zabik of Fenton, Nancy (Lorenzo) Lo Piccolo of Rochester, and Jenny (John) Conely of Brighton; 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
