CMEJREK, Joseph Kail, Sr.- Age 94, of Grand Blanc formerly of Fenton, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at his home at Abbey Park. Â Services will be held 4 PM Saturday, July 14 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Â The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Fenton Cultural Center, Salvation Army or Avalon Hospice. Â Mr. Cmejrek was born November 14, 1912 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Mary (Suchy) Cmejrek and was the oldest of eleven children. He married Bessie M. Simcik in Flint on June 8, 1935 and she preceded him in death February 17, 2001 after 65 years of marriage. Â He was employed by Fisher Body for 40 years working in Flint, Grand Blanc, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Marion, IN. He was the Shift Superintendent in Marion at the time of his retirement in 1974. Â Surviving are: 2 sons, Joseph Cmejrek, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Fenton, James Cmejrek of Ann Arbor; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Cmejrek, Debra (Chuck) Kehoe, Julie (Jason) Forton, Katherine Cmejrek; two great-granddaughters, Madeline and Molly Baker; 4 sisters, Mary (Leo) Piecek of Flint, Barbara (Bob) Clark of Flint, Helen Adams of FL, Agnes (Mel) Howell of Flint; brother, Dan (Katie) Pavich; sister-in-law, Toni Smeage of Saginaw; many nieces, nephews and friends; beloved companion, Betty Draheim. Â He was also preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Daniel Pavich; infant siblings; brother, Chuck; two sisters, Anna and Rose; infant grandson; daughter-in-law, Susan Cmejrek.
