CERESIA, Joseph George - Age 90, of Linden, died Friday, September 16, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, September 22, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. Jim Rolph celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Thursday from 10 AM until the time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7 PM Wednesday, followed by a V.F.W. Memorial Service at 7:30 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Heart to Heart Hospice. Joe was born October 5, 1925 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Emma (Fazone) Ceresia. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Madeline Morrison September 28, 1946 in Flint. He retired in 1985 from Inter City Trucking after 25 years of service and he had previous been employed at Sealtest Dairy for 17 years. Joe had resided in Linden since 1989 coming from Flint. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a life member of the Linden V.F.W. Price-Crane-Robinsons Post #4642. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, boating, and golfing. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Madeline; children, Carol and husband John Whaley of Fenton, Christine and husband Daryl Miller of Fenton, Nancy and husband Thomas Miller of Linden, Patricia and husband Stephen Peltier of Linden, Leanne Ceresia of Fenton, Joseph and wife Dana Ceresia of Linden, David Ceresia of Flint, and Anthony and wife Lori Ceresia of Dearborn; 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Harry. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Fred Peters; granddaughter, Angela Carnell; 3 sisters, Margaret, Rosemary, and Josephine; and a infant brother, Lawrence; and step brother, Raymond Peters.
