Johnnie Dean Sharp

SHARP, Johnnie Dean - Age 89, of Linden, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 Bristol Road, Flint.  Pastor Jon Gildner officiating.  Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Linden.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Wednesday from 3-8 PM and at church Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries, 605 Garland St, Flint, MI 48503.  

Dean was born December 1, 1934 in Gaines, the son of Charles Leroy and Louisa Mae (Ripley) Sharp.  He was a 1953 graduate of Linden High School.  He married Annette Mary Bedell October 22, 1955 in Linden and she preceded him in death November 9, 2010.  He had resided in Linden his entire life.  Dean retired in 1989 from GM Plant #38 after 36.6 years of service.  He was a member of Flint Central Church of the Nazarene.  He enjoyed woodworking, lawn care, gardening, sharing stories and baking brownies.  

Surviving are: his children, Cindy Nassouri of Warren, Michael (Deborah) Sharp of Linden and Cari Miracle of Holt; grandchildren, Amy (Anthony), Jenna (Gabriel), Kayla (Nicholas), Sheri (Shawn), Lisa (Terry), David, Rick (Leslie), Staci (Kevin) and Haley (Brandyn); great grandchildren, Jonathan, Mason, Dean, Carter, Erika, Toney, Donnie, Patrick, David, Tatum, Reese, Fischer and Hunter; great-great grandchildren, Ashton, Rilynn, Maddon, Legynd, Grayson and Lyla; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Stanley) Helm, Dody Bedell, Jerry (Carol) Bedell, Bill Downer and Bill (Debra) Hord; and several nieces and nephews.  

He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chad; brothers, Elston and Paul Sharp.  The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dean's caregivers, Tammi Pocius and Marci Hamilton.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
