John "Jack" Walter

WALTER, John "Jack" - Age 77, of Flint, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at home after battling cancer.  He was bigger than life and extremely generous to all who knew him.  He was born in Highland Park, MI to James and Frances (Lewis) Walter.  He went to school in Armada and attended GMI for several years.  He obtained two Associates Degrees from Flint Junior College.  Jack served in the National Guard and became a Green Beret.  He was on Supervision at Delphi for 38 years and ended up as General Foreman.  He loved good food and was famous for his BBQ ribs.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ken Walter.  Surviving are: his wife of 48 years, Nancy; son, Jon (Lauren) Walter; daughter, Dana McCarius; 3 grandchildren, Maddie, Will and Claudia Walter.  Also, two sisters, Patti Bodin and Barb Tobias.  Per Jack's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Perez and staff, Ann Arbor, Dr. Jon Walter, Dana McCarius, Patti Bodin, Chris Clark and the wonderful people at Kindred Hospice.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
