YOUMANS, John I. Â Age 88, of Grand Blanc, died March 11, 2004 at his residence. Private services will be held at Sunset Hills. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice. Mr. Youmans was born August 16, 1915 in Grand Rapids the son of John Coleman Youmans and Grace (Almy) Youmans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII as a staff sergeant in 186th ordinance depot, and was awarded five Bronze Stars while serving in France. He married Alma Kathleen McArthur on May 12, 1943 in Flint. Mr. Youmans retired from General Motors in 1974 with 33 years of service in Plant Security. Â He had resided in Grand Blanc since 2001 coming from Flint. He was a Golden Gloves Champion. He was a big fan of the Buick Open and enjoyed water skiing. Surviving are: wife, Alma Kathleen Youmans; daughter, Judy and husband Richard Collins of Grand Blanc; son Harold and wife Kathie Youmans of California; grandson, James and wife Amy Green of Port Huron; granddaughter, Krista and husband Larry Lacost of Illinois; great-grandson, Brandon John Green of Pt. Huron; 3 great-granddaughters, Kelly, Kaitlyn, and Kara Lacost of Illinois. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joseph, Wallace, and Edward; and sister, Hazel.
