John Wesley WOOD

WOOD, John Wesley - Age 74, of Linden, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, February 1, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held 12-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday and from 11 AM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. John was born June 21, 1935 in Swartz Creek, the son of John William and Mary (Allen) Wood. He was married to Joan Meek on August 2, 1953. Mr. Wood retired from General Motors in 1996 with 43 years of service. He was an avid golfer and played on hockey leagues for 30 years. His passion was carpentry, which he learned from his father at age 13. Surviving are: wife, Joan; sons, Terry and wife Debra, Jeff and wife Stacey; grandchildren, Brooke, Adam, Hillary and husband Chris, Shelby; great-grandson, Liam; eight brothers.
