TAKACS, John "George" - Age 91, of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at his residence. Services will be held 1:30PM Friday, May 27, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Pastor Goodman Cox Officiating. Interment to follow at Crestwood Cemetery, with a military service under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 822. Visitation will be held 4-7PM Thursday and 12PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to McLaren Visiting Nurses and Hospice. George was born April 11, 1920 in Flint, the son of the late John and Anna (Kocsis) Takacs. He married Rose Kyle, in 1940, in Flint and she preceded him in death in 1979. Mr Takacs enjoyed fishing, horse racing and was an avid sports fan. He served his country in the Army during WWII and retired from Fischer I in 1974 with 33 years of service. Surviving are: son Ronald Takacs and wife Paula of Flint; special friend, Judith Janas of Grand Blanc; grandson Ryan Takacs and fiancee Julie El Hayek of Grand Blanc; granddaughter, Kimberly Jarvinen and husband Greg of Grand Blanc; great-grandsons, Niklas, Nolan Jarvinan. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Conna, Connie, Mary, Cheryl, Amy, Makella and Deborah nurses at McLaren Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
