SURYAN, John R. -- Age 81, of Swartz Creek, died February 15, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 19 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, G-6330 Corunna Rd., Flint. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 10 AM until the funeral at the church on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the United in Christ Lutheran Church. John was born May 22, 1929 in Flint the son of John R. and Elma (Miller) Suryan. He married Marie Meyer on August 5, 1950. He retired from General Motors and Hayes Heating (the business he worked with his son.) He was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Buick Club and Rolling Eagles Motor Home Club. He loved cars and traveling. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Marie; two children, Brenda Monk of Westland, Kevin and wife Amy Suryan of Swartz Creek; five grandchildren, Patrick and wife Stacie Monk, Valerie Michaels, Kristin Suryan, Kyle Suryan, Danielle Suryan; and sister, Lorraine Yott.
