SMITH, John M. "Mick"---Age 80, of Flint formerly of Burton, died February 13, 2017. A memorial Gathering will be held 2PM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Ainsworth Baptist Church, 5114 Van Slyke Rd., Flint. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Rd. Chapel, Swartz Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society. John was born August 27,1936 in Steele, Missouri the son of William Sr. and Edna Collins. He was employed at AC Spark Plug as a Truck Driver with 40 years of service. John was a member of the Bendle School Board from 1978-1987. He always enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren at his cottage in Gladwin and of course attending their sporting events. John is survived by his children; William (Christine) Smith, Renee (James) Dikos, Dean (Pamela) Smith, Barry (Laurie) Smith; stepson; Jeffrey (Lisa) King; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 6 siblings; Jean (Dave) Schopieray, Jane (Marvin) Anderson, William (Evelyn) Collins Jr., Patsy (Jack) LaPorte, Linda (Steve) Payer, Frank (Janie) Collins; and several nieces and nephews. Thank you to the staff of Building 3 at Landings of Genesee Valley and to Kristen at All Americans Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents.
