John Smigiel

SMIGIEL, John Edward - Age 56, of Swartz Creek, Michigan and Medicine Bow, Wyoming, passed away suddenly on March 7, 2015 in Laramie, WY. Funeral services will be 4 PM Tuesday, March 17 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 1PM . John was born on July 5, 1958 in Flint, the son of Louis A. and Mildred (Nugent) Smigiel. He grew up in the north end of Flint and had worked for General Motors, retiring in 2009. John devoted the last 25 years of his life helping animals in need. He worked along side of PAWS Animal Rescue and Pets in Peril (PIP) making sure mistreated and neglected animals were safe. John loved the outdoors and had made his yard a haven for wildlife. He leaves behind his mother, Mildred; brothers, Jim and Joe; sisters, Christina (Ken) and Caroline; nieces, Amber, Kendra, Katie and Christina; fiance, Liz. John will be missed by his beloved companion Jed along with his other 4 legged friends, Leah, Tucker, Polliwog, Java, Beebee, Pearl, Spooky, Wally and Marshy. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis and Grandma Nugent.
