SIMPSON, John Edward - age 79, of Fenton, died on June 23, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St. Fenton., Fr. Dwight Ezop Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday with a Rosary being prayed at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd Fenton and 10 AM until time of service Friday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John Outreach or a Charity of One's Choice. John was born December 4, 1934 in Detroit, the son of William and Mary (Fowler) Simpson. He married Eleanor Wenzel in Detroit on July 14, 1956. John was a graduate of St. Cecilia High School in Detroit. He retired in 1987 from General Motors after 30 years of service. John is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Eleanor; children, John (Lynda), Dave (Kim) of California, Colleen (Mark) Plets, Bridget Durant; grandchildren, Lindsay and Brennan Simpson, Chelsey and Anthony Zazo, Collin and Ian Simpson; sister, Margaret; brother, Jimmy; numerous nieces and nephews.
