SAYER, John Jack Edward, Sr. Â age 79, of Flint, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, January 20, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Dr. J.D. Landis officiating, Interment will be held at Great Lakes National, Holly where military honors will be performed under the auspices of Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post 3243. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Mr. Sayer was born March 6, 1926 in Flint, the son of Delbert and Bernice (Preston) Sayer. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Sayer married Velma Mitchell on January 3, 1948. He retired from Chevrolet Flint Truck Assembly after 30 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, bird watching and flags. Mostly he adored his loving wife, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Surviving are: wife of 58 years, Velma; son, John E. Sayer, Jr. and wife, Lee of Swartz Creek; three grandchildren, Kris Sayer and wife Sue of Swartz Creek, Paige and husband, Jason Treichel of Burton, Kile Sayer and Crystal Gray of Flint; seven grandchildren, Kameron, Keegan, Travis, Logan, Paiton, Jack and Josie; several nieces and nephews.
