ROSIPKO, John Paul - Age 86, of Linden, formerly of Flint, died Monday, November 12, 2007 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, November 15, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. Bosco Padamattummal. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St. Linden where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday evening. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice or St. John the Evangelist Scholarship Fund. John was born May 8, 1921 in Jessup, PA, the son of Andrew and Theresa (Chmelik) Rosipko. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII, where he was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge. He received numerous awards including the Silver Star, Purple Heart and POW Medal. Mr. Rosipko retired from General Motors in 1979 after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post #327, V.F.W. Post #3720, Masonic Lodge #458 and Military Order of the Cootie. Surviving are: wife, Margaret; sons, John M. and wife Deborah Rosipko of Lennon, Robert A. and wife Pamela Rosipko of Cape Coral, FL; granddaughter, Brechen Rosipko; sister, Joann and husband Bernard Schantz of Traverse City; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph; sisters, Ann Rusinko, Agnes Thorne, Rose Hyrman, Christine Peregrim.
