John Mitchell

MITCHELL, John David - Age 73, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, November 6, 2021. Per John's request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dementia Foundation.

John was born June 27, 1948 in Flint, the son of John and Mary (Davitt) Mitchell. He was a 1966 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 2001 coming from Flint/Grand Blanc. John retired from GM Chevrolet Plant #38 (Skilled Trades) after 42 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. He was an avid walker, walking up to 6-10 miles a day. Surviving are: his daughters, Michelle Mitchell (John Peters) of Arizona and Sheila Wetherell of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Jordan Wetherell, Jessica Wetherell, and Trisha Peters; brother, Charles (Christina) Mitchell of Virginia; sister, Suzanne French of Grand Blanc; special nephew, James (April) Tew of California; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Ronald Wetherell. Our dad/Grandpa was such a kind and generous man that would do anything for his family.
