METCALFE, John J., Jr.  Age 50, of Flint, died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 9252 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Monday and 2-5 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Mr. Metcalfe was born December 29, 1953 in Flint, the son of John J. and Helen (Hernandez) Metcalfe, Sr. He married Karen Cornelius on October 23, 1993. Mr. Metcalfe was a 1972 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School. He was an Environmental Services supervisor at McLaren of 26 years. Mr. Metcalfe was a great dad and papa. Surviving are: wife, Karen; eight children, Jaclyn Metcalfe and husband, Brian Mason, Sean Metcalfe, Patrick Metcalfe, Johnny J. Metcalfe III, Annette and husband, Rick Niver, William Shurkey, Chelsea Shurkey, Erin Shurkey, Lindsey Shurkey; four grandchildren, Brian Metcalfe, Samantha Mason, Andrew Niver, Ricky Niver; two brothers,  Kevin and wife, Donna Metcalfe, David and wife, Carmen Metcalfe; sister, Susan and husband, Randy Porter; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
