MANTINI, John Carmine - Age 73, of Fenton, died Friday, July 13, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Monsignor John Budde officiating. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Sunday from 3-8 PM and Monday at the church from 10 AM until the time of Mass. A rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Blessings in a Backpack in Holly or the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. John was born October 30, 1944 in Wyandotte, the son of Americo and Bertha (Monks) Mantini. He attended Lincoln Park High School and received a Bachelors Degree from Madonna University in Livonia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Sandra L. Csorgo September 12, 1969 in Lincoln Park. He had resided in Fenton since 2006 coming from Southgate. John retired from Detroit Edison (DTE) in 2001 after 32 years of service. He was a volunteer for Blessings in a Backpack and at the Whiting Theater in Flint. Surviving are: his wife, Sandra; daughters, Kristina and husband Jamie Costigan of Davisburg and Lisa and husband John Kowal of Clarkston; grandchildren, Natalie, Rebecca, Dylan, Lauren, Cristian, and Nathan; sister, Georgenia and husband Steve Charney of Southgate; brother-in-law, John Selesky of Gaylord; and beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Bea Selesky. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
