MALETIC, John - Age 85, of Fenton, died Saturday, March 26, 2022. A service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Fenton First Presbyterian Church, 503 S. Leroy St., Fenton. Pastor Robbie Carnes officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society
John was born April 17, 1936 in Flint, the son of John Carl and Mary Elizabeth (Gracan) Maletic. He was a 1954 graduate of Carman High School; He received a Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University and his Master Degree from the University of Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had resided in Fenton since 1974 coming from Flint. John married Alice Ellen Irvine August 22, 1959 in Flint. He retired in 1995 from the Carman-Ainsworth School District as a teacher after 33 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer.
Surviving are: his wife of 62 years, Alice; children, Heather (James) Bailey of Bay City, Jonathan (Gwenn) Maletic of Kent, OH, Adam Maletic of Fenton, and Allison (James) Ross of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Nathaniel Bailey, Abigail Banks, Milo Maletic, and Kem Maletic; great grandchildren, Marquis, Emma, Lucas, Depree, Jr, and Depree III; siblings, Mildred Hampson of Petosky, Dorothy Morrish of Clio, Elizabeth (William) Roberts of Swartz Creek, and Robert (Marla) Maletic of Irving, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Walter, Thomas, and Carl; and sister, Helen Grzeck. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
