John G. Lemek

LEMEK, JOHN G.  of Grand Blanc - Son of Joseph Lemek and Josephine Lemek (Hawrylo) Born in Flint, Michigan 09/02/49  Age 57 died December 2, 2006 at his residence.  John graduated from St. Agnes in 1967.  He was employed by General Motors for 37 years as a skilled tradesman.  He was a member of Elks Club 222 for over 25 years.  He was an avid golfer and leaves many cherished buddies he really cared about.  Survivors include:  wife, Janet Lynn Lemek; daughter, Laurie (Chris) Thiel of Davison; son, Jason (Jessica) Lemek of Bluffton, South Carolina, son Joseph Lemek of Flint; brother, Gary (Sharon) Lemek of Flint; five grandchildren, and his beloved mother, Josephine Lemek. John had too many friends to include them all, but special thanks for their love and concern are, Toby Thompson, Charles Patrick Grahm, Bill Keeler, Mark LaFerney, Tom McCabe, Joe Corp, Barry Boyd, Scott Wirth, Boyd Barth, Billy Hajec, and John Worsham. Special thanks for their love are his work partner Mike Heist and his wife Stephanie and long time friends Jack and Louise Echols. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Joseph Lemek. A memorial service will be held 4PM Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Elks Lodge 222, 7177 E. Maple Ave., Grand Blanc. The family will receive friends 3PM until the time of service.  The service will include prayers, memories, and stories to be told by family and friends.  There will also be a dinner immediately following the service. John had made a special request, in lieu of flowers; please make a contribution in his name to Genesys Hospice with many thanks to his care giver and angel Denise, his friend Judi and Mary.  Special thanks for his loving ways, Father Gary McInnis.
