LANNING, John Delbert  Age 57, of Hale, formerly of Linden, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital, Tawas. Funeral services will be held 7:30 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Rev. Darrell Morgan will officiate. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. John was born July 28, 1947 in Flint, the son of Lee and Esther (Morey) Lanning. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam. Mr. Lanning retired from General Motors Truck & Bus and was a member of U.A.W Local #598. Surviving are: wife, Cynthia; son, Dean and wife Christina; grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan and Karagan; brothers, Cliff and Jerry, both of Fenton; sister, Doris of Florida; brother-in-law, Steve and wife Charlotte Edwards of Almont; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and a sister.
