John A. Kerr

KERR, John A.  Age 81, of Hulbert, MI died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, September 13, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Tim Speckman officiating. Interment will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Saturday and 12-4 and 5-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of ones choice. Mr. Kerr was born August 23, 1923 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Kathryn (Koch) Kerr. He married Jean Dudley on June 29, 1953 and she preceded him in death on May 8, 1971. He then married Leah Kosiba and she also preceded him in death. Mr. Kerr retired from Buick in 1978 as a grinder. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 599 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Hulbert. Surviving are: four children, Virginia and husband, Winston Mortiere of Flint, Nancy and husband, Jeff Stephens of Florida, Shirley and husband, Frank Leitgeb of Manistique, Harold Kerr and wife, Phyllis of Ashburn, VA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose McAlister, Kathryn Grice, both of Flint, Shirley and husband, Jack Artibee of Swartz Creek; brother, Phillip Kerr and wife, Patsy of Flint.
