John Patrick Hannon III

February 24, 1947 — October 10, 2007

HANNON, John Patrick III -- Age 60, also known as Honey, Dad, Grandpa, J.P., "The Ole Goat", and Johnny, went to his Heavenly home to be with Jesus, his mother, Ruth, and the Angels, on Wednesday, October 10, 2007. He passed away at home after a brief illness. For those of you who wish to say "Farewell" to a very kind and gentle man, his service will be held 1 PM Monday, October 15, 2007 at the Bentley Wesleyan Church, 6150 Lapeer Rd., Burton, Pastor Roger VanDonkelaar officiating. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Saturday, 12-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bentley Wesleyan Garden or Genesys Hospice. John enjoyed football, hockey, NASCAR, fishing and wrestling. But the thing that gave him the greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandsons, Cannon and Jaren, who will miss him greatly. John was born in Cook County, IL, on February 24, 1947 to John and Ruth Hannon II. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1966. John was united in marriage to Sherry on July 7, 1990. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, especially his wife Sherry; his 3 children, through love, Justin (Tiffani), Joshua (Amanda), Ashlee; his grandsons, Jaren, Cannon, "Grizzly", and baby-to-be (March '08); father, John Hannon II; sister, Kathy Fairman and husband Curtis; mother-in-law, (The Ole Bat) Delorse Summers; brothers-in-law, Gerald Summers (Nannette), Joseph Summers (Lori), Daniel Summers (Sara); sisters-in-law, Mary Booth, Sharie Burger (Hugh); special friends, Kristen, Elisabeth, Mariah Reynolds, Grand Blanc Printing Family; Bentley Wesleyan Family; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. John was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; father-in-law, Francis Summers; brother-in-law, James "Jim" Booth. We will all miss you John, but we will have great comfort in knowing that you are in a much better place. Through this illness his family realized how much he was truly loved by so many especially his "family" at Grand Blanc Printing. His family will be forever grateful for all the wonderful and thoughtful things they have done in these few short weeks. He will be greatly missed by all of those who loved and cared for him so much. The family would like to take this time to thank Genesys Hospice and Dan, Nurses at Station 4159, especailly Betty and Wendy, Dr. Dyka, and Dr. Murphy.
