John Gundry

GUNDRY, John Hugh - age 77, of Fenton, died December 18, 2021. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI 48430 with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Tuesday. Visitation will also be held from 10-11 AM Wednesday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). John was born February 3, 1944 in Goodrich, MI, the son of George and Lenora (McNeil) Gundry. He retired from General Motors as a Job Setter. John was an avid golfer and a wonderful chef. He had owned restaurants in New York at one time. John loved family, his kids, grandkids and siblings. Surviving are: three children, Susan (Blaise) St. Raymond of Texas, Michael (Marla) Gundry of California, and Daniel (Heather) Gundry of Fenton; grandchildren, Parker St. Raymond, Jonathan Gundry, Kirsten (Joey) Mendoza, Bailey (Jacob) Cornell, Cedric Heidler, Alexis, Molly, and Jack Gundry; great-grandchildren, Faith, Abigail, Finley and Benjamin; siblings, Sue (Bob) Mancour; Mary Carzoli; and Ed (Sue) Gundry; sisters-in-law, Carol Gundry and Colleen Gundry; his beloved dog, Oscar.
